Sublimation Printing

Sublimation Printing

With the Dye Sublimation Transfer Process, we can print high quality digital images on a huge variety of items made of any material that is treated, polymer coated or garments made of polyester. The imprinting is accomplished using a printer, special transfer inks, paper and a heat press. Dye sublimation is a transfer process that produces a full-color, photo-quality reproduction of a digital image using ink that turns into gas when heat is applied. By avoiding the high setup costs of screen printing, sublimation printing is much more cost-effective for smaller or larger orders on polyester bases and offers a range of products for your customization needs. Sublimation printing is a tremendously versatile technology that can be applied to apparel, awards, bags, mugs, promotional products, signage and much more!

So how does it work?

Step 1:

After receiving your art, a team member will review your design and begin the preparation for printing. We may touch up the design or contact you if any adjustments are needed. The design is then printed in reverse using a graphic software directly on a special paper for dye sublimation.

Step 2:

Heat and pressure are applied using a heat press at 400 degrees. The gas from the ink is released into the item causing the item to be dyed which creates a lasting product that won’t fade, chip or peel with a soft hand.

Step 3:

The finished full color transfer to your item is complete! Similar to laser printing we print more than t-shirts with this method. Including: 100% Polyester, Performance Wear, Cotton, Wood, Bags, Mugs, Books, Caps and so much more!

Sublimation FAQ

What kind of inks do you use?
The ink used in the Dye Sublimation Transfer Process is a special mixture of water and heat reactive dyes. For professional results we use Sawgrass Technologies® SubliJet-R Inks.

How to Take Care of Your T-Shirts?
T-shirts are easy to care for— for each of our garments just read the tag to find out what water temperature and cycle strength to use. Wash lights with lights, darks with darks. Turn your custom tees inside out before washing to protect your design. Most tees are pre-shrunk (check your tag!) and can be thrown in the dryer, but some styles, such as American Apparel, should air dry instead.
